Author Shannon Jones is a former marketing executive at Starbucks for years before she returned to writing. Jones was inspired to create the series after her own European trip and by her 10-year-old cat, KeeKee.

“When we lived and traveled in Europe, our friends’ children kept asking where we were and if KeeKee enjoyed Europe as well. With that, the inspiration for KeeKee’s Big Adventures was born,” Jones said.
