DC Bike Party Hosts Coat Drive, Thrift Shop Bash at Old Glory

Want to donate to charity and have a good time but only have $20 in your pocket? Bring a coat to Dupont Circle tonight, ride a bike and celebrate your charity with funky thrift shop style at Old Glory Bar-B-Que.

Georgetown's Old Glory Bar-B-Que will have some funky style when DC Bike Party, a monthly cycling group, arrives after its Thrift Shop Re-Cycle tonight.

Thrift Shop Re-Cycle will be a regular group ride, but the group asks that, tonight, cyclists ride with a little more fashion flair and bring some extra winter clothing to donate. Everyone, and anyone, is encouraged to participate.

The Re-Cycle will begin at 7 p.m. at Dupont Circle, where a collaborative benefitting needy residents of Southeast Washington will collect coats and other warm clothing.

The group will take off at 8 p.m., wind through seven miles of Northwest Washington and end at the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and M Street for an after party at Old Glory Bar-B-Que.

The party will include all-night drink specials and entertainment by local group, the Originators. City Bikes will provide bike racks outside of the bar until 11:45 p.m.

Are you planning to pile on the secondhand finds and get on a bicycle tonight? Please send photos to michelle.peirano@patch.com.
