D.C. Board of Elections Apologizes for Voter's Guide Mistake

Hundreds of thousands of voter's guides were distributed to residents.

After thousands of D.C. voter’s guides featuring a major mistake were printed and mailed to residents, the D.C. Board of Elections has issued an apology.

Over 300,000 copies were printed with an upside down D.C. flag on the front page.

“Well, we messed up. BIG time,” the D.C. Board of Elections wrote in the statement featuring the same flag that was printed incorrectly on the guide.

There was speculation about if the mistake was done on purpose in order to engage voters. D.C. Board of Elections spokeswoman Denise Tolliver had said it was a part of an effort since the April primary elections were so low, NBC Washington reported.

The apology reminds readers that the voter’s guide contains important information and encourages residents to let their voices to be heard on Election Day.
