EastBanc, Inc. opens in historic building just as restorations conclude.

The Georgetown Post Office welcomes a new roommate after a year of renovations.
The United States Postal Service sold the Georgetown Post Office to DC-based commercial and residential investment and development firm, EastBanc Technologies in 2013.
The EastBanc, Inc. headquarters relocated to the post office and signed a 10-year lease to take up 11,776 square feet in the building.

The Georgetown Post Office, 1215 31st Street NW, will continue to operate in the front section of the first floor, according to Anthony Lanier, president of EastBanc and owner of EastBanc Technologies in a news release.
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Georgetown Post Office underwent restorations that would not disturb the monumental details of the building. Among the renovations, the original fireplace and wood floors were restored on the second floor.

In order to preserve the historic building, the basement was the only level to receive additions. A kitchen and common space social center now occupies the basement of the tri-level office space.
“EastBanc Technologies’ move to larger digs confirms Georgetown as a great location for technology companies looking for unique space in a thriving historic district,” CEO and President of the Georgetown Business Improvement District Joe Sternlieb said in a news release. “Georgetown is becoming a hotspot for the creative economy.”
