D.C. Council to Consider Criminalizing "Revenge Porn"

Committee members will review two bills regarding sexually explicit photos and videos.

The D.C. Council will consider criminalizing “revenge porn” at a hearing Friday, according to NBC Washington.

Two bills will be reviewed that both would make distributing explicit photos or videos that were meant to be private during a romantic relationship a crime. The bills would make the distribution punishable to up to five years in prison, reports NBC Washington.

Thirteen states, including Virginia, Delaware and Maryland, have signed bills addressing revenge porn.
