D.C. Salvation Army Will Relocate to Northern Virginia... For a Price
Not far from Georgetown, the Salvation Army may sell its National Capital Area Command space.

Serving families in D.C., Suburban Maryland, and Northern Virginia, the Salvation Army is not shying away from offers for a top property in the area.
According to the Washington Business Journal, the Salvation Army obtained the 2626 Pennsylvania Avenue NW property in 1998 for $6.62 million. Being the last developable real estate space on the south side of the avenue makes this property valuable and sought after.
The property was assessed at about $11.2 million and is expected to increase to almost $16.3 million for the 2015 fiscal year.
