The DC Cannabis Campaign was created by residents in the area who believe that the marijuana laws needed to be changed.

District residents should not expect a smoke fest outside of the White House in celebration.

“We’re not going to do it on the street, I will be upset if I see people smoking weed on the streets,” DC Cannabis Campaign supporter Adam Eidinger told The Washington Post.

An almost 2-to-1 margin in favor of the initiative was found in a NBC4/Washington Post/Marist DC poll conducted Sept. 14 to 16.
