Dog Adoption Special Features Larger Furry Friends
The Washington Humane Society celebrates the new year with a $30 adoption fee Jan. 3 and 4.

Now that the Ball dropped and resolutions are in the works, it’s a great time to give a home to a loving pet.
The Washington Humane Society will slash the usual $170 dog adoption fee to $30 on Jan. 3 and 4. The promotion includes all dogs over 30 pounds at both adoption centers, 1201 New York Avenue NE and 7319 Georgia Avenue.
“By no fault of their own, larger dogs are often overlooked by adopters. They can be just as energetic as their smaller or more slender friends, and those extra pounds just mean there is more to love!” Washington Humane Society Online Communications Specialist Zenit Chughtai said in a news release.
