Free Collection of Live Christmas Trees in D.C.

D.C. residents can properly dispose of trees from Dec. 28 to Jan. 10.

Once the shiny ornaments are off of the tree and the lights are packed away, you’ll need an environmentally-friendly way to dispose of that live Christmas tree.

Participants can put trees at the curb on the regularly scheduled collection days from Dec. 28 to Jan. 10. Any trees or greenery put out after that period will be collected if space in the truck allows it.

All trees should be bare of ornaments, tinsel, and other decorations and will be composted after collection.
