Georgetown Dog Tag Bakery Profits Support Military Families

The bakery employs wounded veterans and will open in the fall.

A new bakery and café is coming to Georgetown for a good cause!

Located at 3210 Grace Street NW, Dog Tag Bakery gives 100 percent of profits those serving in the military and their families.

Not only does the program give veterans employment, but it provides education as well. Veterans with disabilities and their spouses will run the bakery taking on positions from baking to business management. Participants will enroll in a tailored curriculum at Georgetown University through the School of Continuing Studies to focus on business administration and entrepreneurship.

The program aims to provide a skill set that can be built upon and expanded.

Dog Tag Bakery is testing its treats, such as brownies and fresh bread loaves, at it’s temporary space in Union Kitchen, 1110 Congress Street SE.

The doors will open to the 4,200-square-foot building in the fall.
