Passengers download the Hailo app which keeps a credit card on file similar to services Taxi Magic and Uber. No cash is exchanged between the driver and the passenger. To use the service, passengers are charged the regular fare plus $1.50 for the Hailo service.

The app shows taxis located nearby and the meter starts running when the passenger taps a specific icon.
