High-End Canadian Outdoor Apparel Store Opts Out of Georgetown for CityCenterDC

Arc’teryx will be coming to D.C. with jackets, fleece, and duffle bags after passing up Georgetown.

According to the Washington Business Journal, the store will be coming to CityCenterDC after originally considering Georgetown. Due to the high-income clientele, a men’s insulated jacket starts at $199, the alternative area was chosen.

“With no disrespect to T.J. Maxx, but when that starts to be the big face in Georgetown as opposed to what was originally proposed as a Bloomingdale’s, it does affect an outsider’s view of what’s going on there,” Broker with Newmark Grubb Knight Frank Edward Goldmeier told the WBJ.

Arc’teryx is working to open Dec. 14.
