How Georgetown Voted for Mayor
District election was not a cakewalk for Muriel Bowser, particularly in Ward 2.

Independent candidate David Catania won over Georgetown voters and the rest of Ward 2, but he is not D.C.’s new mayor.
Muriel Bowser won the mayoral election, but she did not have the support of every ward, including Ward 2.
Bowser secured her win by gaining 53.96 percent of the District’s votes. Independent candidate David Catania became runner-up with 35.31 percent.

Located in Ward 2, Georgetown voters chose a different candidate for mayor. Catania earned 52.42 percent of the votes while 38.33 percent went to Bowser.

Overall in the District, Carol Schwartz won 7.09 percent of the votes while the remaining candidates Faith, Bruce Majors, and Nestor Djonkam earned less than one percent.
