Jackie Kennedy's Georgetown Mansion is on Sale for $10 Million

The famed first lady lived at the house on N Street after her husband's assassination in 1963.

Would you like to live in the Georgetown mansion once owned by Jackie Kennedy? Now you can -- if you have $10 million to spare, that is.

The Georgetown mansion, located at 3017 N St. NW, was purchased by the former first lady after the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy, according to CarolJoynt.com.

It is currently a private sale by Washington Fine Properties, but it will go public next month, according to the report.

The $10 million figure is not crazy by any means in an area like Georgetown, but undoubtedly it is at least somewhat overpriced due to the history of the building. It may require a few million dollars worth of work as well, so buyer beware.

Jackie Kennedy didn't live there very long after leaving the White House, moving to Manhattan less than a year later later.

It was later purchased by New Republic publisher Michael Straight, and then socialite Yolande Betbeze Fox, who died earlier this year, according to a Washington Post report.
