“This recognition and generous financial donation means so much to all of us at DC Diaper Bank, and will enable us to provide diapers to even more people in need,” Cannon said in a news release.

Cannon founded DC Diaper Bank after understanding the difficulties of motherhood even with a strong support system. Being that the closest diaper bank was in Pennsylvania, Cannon wanted to help less fortunate families in D.C. have access to the essential baby item.

L’Oréal Paris will grant one of the 10 women an additional $25,000 depending on who receives the most online votes through Nov. 21. Supporters can vote daily through Women of Worth, “liking” the post and photo of the contestant on Facebook, or by re-tweeting the tweet of the contestant on Twitter.

“I have always been a believer that even doing a little can change a lot, so I also hope that my story, and those of the other extraordinary women celebrated this year, will help to inspire others to find something they can do to help make a difference in their communities,” Cannon said in a news release.
