National Drug Take Back Day Provides D.C. Collection Spots
The anonymous prescription drug collection takes place Sept. 27.

The 9th National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day will collect expired, unneeded, or unwanted prescription drugs in D.C. locations.
The Drug Enforcement Administration and police have paired to hold the anonymous and free program from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

- Second Police District: 3320 Idaho Avenue NW
- Wisconsin Avenue Baptist Church: 3920 Alton Place NW
- University of the District of Columbia: 4200 Connecticut Avenue NW
- Third Police District: 1620 V Street NW
- Third District Substation: 750 Park Road NW
According to the 2013 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 6.5 million Americans abused prescription drugs which is more than double the amount of those using heroin, cocaine, and hallucinogens combined.
The collection brings awareness to prescription drug abuse and gives the opportunity to dispose of potentially harmful drugs.
