New Barriers on Key Bridge Prevent Last-Minute Left Turns Into Georgetown
Drivers can no longer bypass those waiting in line to make left turn over the bridge.

Barriers were put into place on Key Bridge in order to stop cars from cutting off drivers in the left lane.
According to My Fox DC, it would take about 20 minutes to cross Key Bridge during rush hour. The bridge from Virginia to D.C. had increased traffic issues as drivers made the left turn onto Canal Road in Georgetown.
Previously, some drivers who did not want to wait on the bridge in the left lane to make the turn onto Canal Road would drive in the less crowded right lane and cut off cars in the left lane last-minute to make the turn.
