Opinion: Who Will Be On The Titanic Election Night in 2024
Who is going to go down with the ship with the greatest of fanfare and sad desperation?

It’s a zero sum game. On Wednesday November 6th there will be a political obituary in every U.S. newspaper across the land. That is of course unless it’s still to close to call until all the mail-in etc. votes are still needed to be counted to declare a definitive outcome.
One can’t help but remember the band on the Titanic playing the music right up to their tragic end being swallowed up by both a freezing ocean and a sinking ship. Somehow the analogy to this years election has one caveat; there are two bands that will be playing that night one for those who political careers will go on to glory and one for those who political fortunes will sink , drown and die.
There can only be one authentic prediction and that is there will be a very charged political atmosphere for the 2024 Presidential election. As usual this election will be billed as the most important one in U.S. history in perhaps the same phrases Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson used back in their day. Who can forget the facts of the election of Lincoln in 1860 and what followed? I suppose you might say that was a huge election too.

Although the various network talking heads view this election like a sporting event and make jokes, snide remarks and hosts of predictions as they talk into the cameras, but it is so much more.
It is the making of history, it is who will rule and who will not. What will happen and what will not. Until of course the next most important election of our lifetimes in 2028!

Somehow the people will speak on Election Day. Their votes will drown out the media folks who all have their own personal agendas and careers to position and protect.
I still believe as Lincoln said about fooling some of the people some of the time but “ you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.”
Every election cycle the stakes are raised , double-downed and the final cards are drawn. Losers watch the winner take all. Some yell cheat others just get up and walk away.
After the election the trains will run, folks will go to work, and the wheels that propel this country will turn by the share force of 350 million people in a pursuit of happiness that very day. Some will believe the election results will hamper them, others the opposite. Then there will those who will be to busy trying to survive to care about who rules their country.
