SoberRide Offers Free Taxi Rides on New Year's Eve
Celebrate safely by taking advantage of the free taxi service in Georgetown and D.C.
Unless your New Year’s resolution is to get arrested for drunk-driving, give a call to SoberRide.
Since it is a high risk time of year the Washington Regional Alcohol Program is offering a free taxi service. Rides are free up to $30 and callers must cover the cost after that amount is surpassed.
Taxis will be available from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. New Year’s Eve into New Year’s Day.

The following guidelines are in place for the free service:
- You must be at least 21-years-old
- Taxis cannot be reserved in advance
- Keep in mind it will take about 30 to 60 minutes for taxis to arrive
- Calls made from cell phones must have an area code from D.C.
