Thanksgiving 2014 Schedule: Metro Service for the Holiday Weekend

The ongoing Metro rebuilding will take a break for holiday travel Nov. 27 to 30.

Take the stress out of traveling this Thanksgiving by staying up to date on the latest Metro schedules!

While the Metro will follow regular week and weekend schedules Nov. 28 to 30, there are changes for Thanksgiving Day as follows:

Metrorail:

Find out what's happening in Georgetownfor free with the latest updates from Patch.

  • Operate on a Sunday schedule 7 a.m. to midnight
  • Off-peak fares will be in effect
  • Free parking at Metro-operated facilities
  • No track work will take place

Metrobus:

  • Operate on a Sunday schedule
  • Check timetables for service times

MetroAccess:

Find out what's happening in Georgetownfor free with the latest updates from Patch.

  • Operate during the same hours as the rail and bus
  • Subscription trips are cancelled on Thanksgiving unless user sent request

Are you traveling to or from an airport? Take note on the latest must-know info!

Washington Dulles International Airport:

  • Metrobus Route 5A: direct route between the airport and L’Enfant Plaza and Rosslyn Metrorail stations
  • Metrobus Route 5A: $7 per person and $3.50 for seniors and the disabled
  • Check the timetable to plan accordingly

Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport:

  • 80 additional trips will be offered on selected dates
  • Available route to airport: Metro’s Green Line to the Greenbelt station and transferring to the B30 Metrobus
  • Metrobus Route B30: $7 per person and $3.50 for seniors and the disabled
  • Check the timetable to plan accordingly

Washington Union Station (Amtrak, VRE, MARC and Intercity Bus services):

  • Available by Metrorail’s Red Line
  • Use Trip Planner for rail times

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport:

  • Available by Metrorail’s Blue and Yellow lines
  • Use Trip Planner for rail times
