Travel to the Inauguration in Style by Water Taxi

The Potomac Riverboat Company is offering round trips between Alexandria and Washington, DC, but reservations are required.

You can get there from here. Inauguration Day participants can take the Inaugural Water Taxi from Alexandria to Washington and back again Jan. 21.

Though the Potomac Riverboat Company does operate out of Georgetown, it will not be providing rides from the Georgetown waterfront to the inauguration.

The Potomac Riverboat taxi service will depart from the Alexandria City Marina at the base of Cameron Street on the hour from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will depart hourly from Washington’s Gangplank Marina at 600 Water Street SW, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Tickets are $30 roundtrip per person and reservations are required. It takes about 45 minutes each way. For more information, see the Potomac Riverboat website.
