Video Sharing Program Promotes D.C. Safety
About 1,300 new cameras will be added to the police network.

D.C. police officials work to enhance public safety and security with a new video sharing system.
The Capital Shields programs, a citywide initiative announced Friday was created through a partnership between the Metropolitan Police Department, Kastle Systems, and local businesses.
Local businesses that join Capital Shields can use existing security cameras to enroll. Participants in the program will own and be able to access the videos from any of the other cameras that are in it as well.
