D.C. promotes Car-Free Day with special events and prizes.
Car-Free Day encourages drivers to forego cars for the day and opt for more sustainable forms of transportation.
Drivers can pledge to take alternative transportation such as walking, carpooling, or taking the train on Sept. 22.
