Car Strikes Building In Miami-Dade

First responders freed a driver who crashed into a building Tuesday night in northwest Miami-Dade.

MIAMI, FL — First responders rescued a motorist who crashed into a building Tuesday night in northwest Miami-Dade. The incident happened shortly before 7 p.m. at NW 22 Avenue and NW 60 Street, according to Erika Benitez of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

"When fire rescue arrived, one person was trapped inside the vehicle," Benitez explained. "Rescue crews worked diligently to free the patient who was transported by ground to a nearby hospital."

Fire officials said they did not immediately know what caused the crash.

"MDFR recommends drivers to slow down, especially during periods of inclement weather," Benitez added.

Miami-Dade County was under a flood advisory for much of Tuesday night.
