DUI Crackdoown Begins Saturday Night In Miami-Dade

Miami-Dade police will be stopping cars starting on Saturday night into Sunday morning.

AVENTURA, FL — Miami-Dade police will be stopping cars on Saturday night in rolling DUI sweeps from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. in northeast Miami-Dade.

Detective Robin Pinkard of the Miami-Dade Police Department told Patch that officers will focus on the area along US 1 between NE 172 Street and NE 135 Street.

ā€œAs part of a Florida Department of Transportation grant initiative, the Miami-Dade Police Department will be conducting high visibility enforcement of impaired drivers in Miami-Dade County,ā€ according to Pinkard.

The special enforcement will be conducted by the Miami-Dade Police Department's Motorcycle Unit, Pinkard added.
