Sawgrass Mills Mall in Broward County was placed on lockdown Sunday night as police responded to an unspecified incident.
SUNRISE, FL — Sawgrass Mills Mall in Broward County was placed on lockdown Sunday night as police responded to an unspecified incident, according to a news report. Sunrise police were treating the incident as an active shooter situation but suspected that it may be by a false alarm, NBC 6 in Miami reported.
The mall was scheduled to close at 7 p.m. on Sunday. It is scheduled to be open from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on New Year's Day.
