County Gives Guidelines For 2nd COVID-19 Vaccine Dose
If you have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, here's what to expect scheduling an appointment for the second dose.
BLOOMINGDALE — RIVERVIEW, FL — If you received your first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, here's what to expect with scheduling and attending your second dose appointment, according to Hillsborough County:
Information About Second Doses for Individuals Vaccinated Jan. 6-9 or Jan. 13-15:
- People who received their first injection at any of Hillsborough County’s public vaccination sites (Ed Radice Sports Complex, Strawberry Festival grounds, University Mall, or Vance Vogel Sports Complex) on Jan. 6-9 or Jan. 13-15 will be able to return to those sites for their second dose. These individuals are being contacted to confirm their second appointment.
- Origination of call center numbers may not be recognized by local carriers. While awaiting an appointment callback, we encourage you to answer all calls. Be aware that you will NEVER be asked for your social security number or payment when scheduling a vaccination appointment.
- Residents must return to the site where they got their first dose of the vaccine to get their second shot at the time and date of their appointment.
- If for any reason the appointment team is unable to reach you, please return to the site where you got the first dose between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., 21 days after having received the first dose. Please note that these are the hours of operation for anyone receiving a second dose, even if your original appointment was after 4 p.m.
- Residents returning for second doses at all sites must bring a photo ID with their name and date of birth (for example: Florida driver's license, state-issued ID, or passport), and the COVID-19 Vaccine Record Card that was issued at the time of the first injection.
- Even if a resident misplaced their appointment reminder, they should still return to the site for the second dose.
