Loaded Gun Found on Bloomingdale High Campus

An anonymous tip led to the discovery of a loaded Glock 43 on the Bloomingdale High School campus Friday.

BLOOMINGDALE, FL — A 17-year-old Bloomingdale High School student faces criminal charges after an anonymous tip led to the discovery of a Glock 43 9mm gun on campus Friday afternoon.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, administrators at the 1700 Bloomingdale Ave. school received a tip that the boy had a loaded gun in his backpack. When a search was conducted by school resource deputies around 12:45 p.m. Nov. 4, the gun was found. The sheriff's office said the gun was loaded.

The teen, who is not being identified by Patch due to his age, was charged with possession of a firearm on school grounds. He also faces a minor in possession of a weapon charge.
