Metro Development Group announces Sereno community in Wimauma
Gated community to have ULTRAFi WiFi, pickleball, nature trails, resort style pool
Wimauma, Fla. (September 3, 2015) – Metro Development Group is launching Sereno, a gated community near Sun City Center featuring smart homes wired with the highest internet speeds in the nation, along with courts for “pickleball,” a popular new sport for active adults that’s a blend of tennis, badminton and ping pong.
Sereno, which means still and calm in Spanish, will be a 600-home high-tech community where all homes will be equipped with Metro’s ULTRAFi WiFi providing up to one Gigabit of speed – 100 times faster than average broadband speeds.
Sereno’s amenity center, expected to open in spring 2016, will overlook one of the development’s three lakes, and will include a resort-style pool, open-air pavilion, cabanas and outdoor kitchen.

The gated community will have a particular focus on outdoor activities, from two pickleball courts – Metro’s first community with the popular paddle sport – to basketball, tennis, miles of nature trails, a dog park and fitness stations, all of which are expected to open by early-2016.
With rapid growth in Wimauma and Ruskin, and the employment opportunities related to the opening of the Amazon Fulfillment Center less than 8 miles away, the Sereno builders are seeing a high level of interest from homebuyers. The community already has a few buyers in this early stage of development, and is getting more than 25 visits, calls and emails a week from interested people.

“As the newest community in the area, we are seeing a wide range of buyers, from young families to active adults living in Sun City Center who are looking for a new home,” said Greg Singleton, President of Metro Development Group. “Prospective buyers are attracted to our value pricing and high-quality amenities paired with low HOA fees and gated entry.”
Centex and Express Homes, a D.R. Horton company, have completed and opened model homes in Sereno, with model homes coming from the community’s other builders, K. Hovnanian Homes and Lennar Homes, in September. Starting home prices in the community range from the high $100s to the low $300s.
Sereno is Metro’s third community in Hillsborough County, and its fourth in the Tampa Bay area. The developer also has Park Creek and Waterleaf in Hillsborough County, and an additional community planned. And in Pasco County, Metro has Union Park underway, with plans for two more communities in the next two years.
