New Teacher of the Year Gets Limo Ride to Work

Cassie Mattison of Spoto High School arrived at her job in style this week.

The new Teacher of the Year in Hillsborough was rewarded with a limousine ride to the high school Thursday, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

Mattison is chair of the English Department and school writing coach. Mattison said her inspiration is her students and other teachers. She is lauded for her rapport with students, according to the Tampa Bay Times article. Mattison said her job is easy because she has so much passion for it.

“My goal was to be where I am right now, a department head and teaching AP literature and having influence at my school,” Mattison said. “I guess my goal right now is to keep doing what I’m doing, but do it better.”
