Riverview Boy, 9, Killed, Family Seriously Injured in 6-Vehicle Crash
Breaking: A Thursday afternoon crash on Interstate 75 in Hernando County killed a Riverview boy and left several people seriously injured.

HERNANDO COUNTY, FL — A 9-year-old Riverview boy is dead following a six-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 in Hernando County Thursday.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, five of the vehicles involved in the crash were heading northbound on I-75 around 3:34 p.m. Sept. 15 when the crash occurred. The vehicles were either moving slowly or completely stopped due to another crash on the road ahead, a highway patrol report said.
The sixth vehicle, a Hyundai Genesis, driven by Gregory Andriotis, 33, of Deltona, however, failed to slow or stop for traffic ahead, the report said. Troopers say Andriotis struck the rear of a Mazda CX5 driven by Jordan Michael Scherer, 37, of Riverview, causing that vehicle to propel forward. A chain-reaction crash that ultimately involved four more cars began, the report noted.
