Wimauma Man Charged With Having Sex With Pet Dog, Says Sheriff

WIMAUMA, FL — A 20-year-old Wimauma man was arrested after the Hillsborough sheriff's office discovered graphic images on SnapChat and other social media sites of him engaging in sex acts with his dog.

The sheriff's office charged Juan Yap Rivera Jr. on multiple felony charges, including possession and distribution of child pornography and bestiality.

Detectives began investigating Rivera after receiving and following up on a cyber tip. During the investigation, detectives said they found photos and videos in Rivera's possession of child pornography and bestiality on Rivera's cellphone.

"I want to commend our detectives for their tireless work in uncovering this case and bringing the perpetrator to justice," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "This is a heinous case, and I want to remind the community we must continue to work together to prevent child exploitation and abuse. We must remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior or activity to law enforcement."
