2 Arrested in Galati Marine Armed Burglary

Manatee County deputies say the remaining three suspects will soon be in custody.

ANNA MARIA ISLAND, FL — Two of the five people wanted in connection with a July armed burglary at Galati Yacht Sales and Marine are now in custody. According to Manatee County Sheriff’s deputies, the remaining three will soon be, as well.

The crime that led to the arrests occurred back on July 17. Deputies say five people went to the 900 S. Bay Blvd. marine and broke into four separate yachts. All of the yachts were in the marina’s dry dock area at the time.

Items stolen during the early morning burglary included a shotgun and a handgun. Video of the incident was released following the crime.

The arrests that were announced Thursday are:

Tyler Hollingshead, 23

  • Charges: three counts of burglary and one count of armed burglary

Jacob Bennett, 18

  • Charges: four counts of burglary and one count of dealing in stolen property

Authorities have not released the names of the other three people wanted in connection with the burglaries. An email from the sheriff’s office said arrests should be announced soon.
