Update: Baby's Death Under Investigation

BRADENTON, FL — The Bradenton Police Department has located a 21-year-old man wanted in connection with the death of a 10-month-old child.

According to the agency, officers were called to Manatee Memorial Hospital on Tuesday after the child’s death. Police learned that Eric Patrick Neri of Bradenton was babysitting a 3-year-old child and a 10-month-old prior to the death.

Police have not said how the child died, nor have they released a name.

Neri, police say, is currently being questioned about the death. He has also been charged on two outstanding warrants. Those warrants stem from child abuse allegations involving the 3-year-old, the agency said. Charges include child neglect with great harm and child abuse without great harm.

No further information is being released at this time.
