Bradenton House Fire Under Investigation

The blaze broke out late Wednesday evening on Ballard Park Drive.

BRADENTON, FL — The Bradenton Fire Department is investigating a late Wednesday night blaze that tore through a home on Ballard Park Drive.

According to the agency, it received a call about the fire in the 1600 block of Ballard Park Drive around 11:52 p.m. When firefighters arrived on scene a few minutes later, they found flames and smoke coming from the rear of the home.

Four residents of the home were safely outside when firefighters arrived, the department wrote in an email to media. A fifth resident was rescued from a bedroom, the agency noted.

The blaze was brought under control by 12:04 a.m., the department said.

None of the home’s occupants were injured in the fire, officials say. Even so, one person was taken to a local hospital for non-fire related medical concerns.

Damage to the home is estimated at $12,000. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.

The department said the Red Cross helped the family find accommodations for the night.
