Teens’ Attempt to Flee in Stolen Vehicle Foiled
Manatee County deputies arrested three teens Tuesday night after spotting a vehicle that had been stolen from Sarasota.

ELLENTON, FL — Three teenagers face a long list of charges after Manatee County Sheriff’s deputies say they happened to spot a vehicle that had been reported stolen from Sarasota pulling into Ellenton’s Covered Bridge Estates Tuesday night.
When deputies spotted the vehicle just before midnight Sept. 20, the teens bailed out of the vehicle on foot, an email from the agency said. A short time later, deputies spotted one of the teens, a 16-year-old boy driving a different vehicle that had been stolen from inside the Ellenton neighborhood, the email said.
Deputies gave chase. The teen lost control of that vehicle and crashed, the email said. A K9 unit was able to bring him into custody.
