104-Year-Old Ripped Off by Home Healthcare Worker: Sheriff's Office
Breaking: A Tampa woman stands accused of stealing Publix gift cards from a 104-year-old woman in her care.

TAMPA, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a 37-year-old Tampa woman in regard to a theft involving a 104-year-old woman.
According to the sheriff’s office, Betzaida Rosario was brought into custody Thursday on six counts of petty theft and one count of exploitation of the elderly.
“Rosario was a home healthcare worker for the victim in Sun City Center and was trusted to provide services to the victim,” the agency explained in an email to media. “The investigation revealed in July and August of 2016, Rosario took several Publix gift cards from the victim for her own personal use.”

When the alleged crime was reported, the sheriff’s office was able to track down surveillance video showing Rosario using the cards at several locations, the email noted.
Rosario was released from the Hillsborough County Jail following her Thursday arrest in lieu of $5,000 bond, according to jail records. She has no prior arrests in Hillsborough County, jail records indicate.
