HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — Hillsborough County is inviting residents to learn more about an intersection improvement project at two intersections on Lumsden Road between Providence Road and Brandon Boulevard.

Heather Lakes Boulevard has two intersections with Lumsden Road and both are slated for an improvement project that will increase safety for residents and commuters.

Resident feedback will help Hillsborough County gain insight into the proposed safety enhancements during a virtual public engagement open through Monday, Oct. 31.

This project will improve transportation mobility and safety for vehicles and pedestrians at intersections. Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2023 and is expected to be complete by late 2023.

  • Signalizing the intersection of Lumsden Road at Heather Lakes Boulevard/Kensington Ridge Boulevard.
  • Signalizing the intersection of Lumsden Road at Heather Lakes Boulevard/Paddock Club Drive.
  • Extending the existing eastbound left-turn lane at Heather Lakes Boulevard/Kensington Ridge Boulevard.
  • Extending the existing westbound left-turn lane at Heather Lakes Boulevard/Paddock Club Drive.
  • Retrofitting for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements to provide services that improve access for all roadway users.
  • Adding/reconstructing sidewalks, pedestrian curb ramps, and crosswalks.
