A Roundabout To Be Added At Intersection Improvement Project In Gibsonton
A Hillsborough County intersection improvement plan will improve pedestrian safety and have curb ramps to help with wheelchair access.
GIBSONTON, FL — The intersection of Symmes Road and East Bay Road in Gibsonton will experience a $4.9 million redesign to improve safety, a Hillsborough County news release said.
Additional sidewalks will be added and outdated sidewalks will be replaced to improve pedestrian connectivity through the corridor, county staff said.
The sidewalk enhancements will include pedestrian curb ramps that are compliant with the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) in all quadrants. The project also features intuitive signage and pavement markings to guide motorists through the roundabout.
