- End of Summer fishing has been steadily improving as the days begin to shorten.
- Redfish will be congregating to form big roaming schools. Look for them on the shallow bars on the outgoing tide or the oyster bars on high water.
- Both redfish and snook have really been biting well. In the past few weeks, the redfish bite has come on strong. Excellent time to use artificial lures such gold spoons or soft plastic jigs.
- Trout fishing is excellent in the early mornings. The regular rain showers we've had have kept the water temperatures down and this has led to conditions that really suit our three most notorious game fish.
- Snook fishing has gotten better every year after the freeze endured three years ago. This year has been the best year by far and the bite for them recently has been pretty consistent.
The club's guest speaker Sept. 12 is Mr Captain Woody Gore, billed as "one of Tampa's fishing legends," with more than 50 years of worldwide experience. The event kicks off at at 7 p.m., with Gore scheduled to talk about inshore fishing.
