SEFFNER, FL — Seffner residents have an added grocery shopping option at the newly opened ALDI store in the city.

Local shoppers can experience ALDI at the new Seffner location during its grand opening Thursday. ALDI said one of the ways it separates itself from other grocery stores is requiring customers to deposit a quarter to unlock a shopping cart is one way the chain helps shoppers save money.

"ALDI doesn't need to hire employees to corral loose carts, and customers get their quarter back when they return the cart," ALDI management said in a news release. The grocery store also asks shopper to bring reusable bags and doesn't offer single-use plastic bags. Meats, produce and household essentials are among the many items found at the stores.
