Florida Highway Patrol Seeks Information On HIt-And-Run Driver That Killed Bicyclist

The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking information in a fatal crash involving a Hillsborough County man on a bicycle New Year's Day.

SEFFNER, FL — Troopers are asking the public's help in identifying a hit-and-run driver who killed a 64-year-old Apollo Beach man riding his bike New Year's Day, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

They bicyclist rode southbound across U.S. Highway 92, just east of Taylor Road and went in front of a vehicle that traveled westbound at 6:40 p.m., investigators said. The vehicle then hit him and drove away.

Authorities said they have not been able to identify the type of vehicle that hit him. A medical examiner pronounced him dead at the crash location, deputies said.
