BRANDON, FL — There’s still time this fall to stroll around a pumpkin patch or field in the Brandon area and pick the best pumpkin for a jack-o’-lantern.

A trip to the pumpkin patch is a fall favorite for many families in the Brandon area. Many fields have free activities like corn mazes, hayrides and apple cider tastings.

It’s best to call ahead to the field or check its website for coronavirus-related guidelines and hours of operation.

Here are some of the top pumpkin farms in the Brandon area to visit in 2021:

  • Harvest Moon Fun Farm Maze And Pumpkin Patch, 106 E. Lumsden Road, Brandon, hosts its sixth annual corn maze and pumpkin patch on select weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Nov. 7. The cost is $13.96 for adults and children age 3 and up. Children 2 and under are admitted for free. Click here for tickets.
  • Shimmering Lights Fall Festival At Sunkissed Acres, Sunkissed Acres Farm, 2302 N. Dover Road, Dover has a a self-guided, quarter-mile walking trail through dancing lights to music and a play area with games, outdoor movies and light refreshments for all to enjoy. This is a family-friendly event Friday through Sunday until Oct. 31, 7 to 10 p.m.
  • Dave's Pumpkin Patch
    Before the trees arrive at Dave's Christmas Tree Lot, 106 E. Lumsden Road, Brandon, Dave stocks up on rows of pie pumpkins, carving pumpkins, mini pumpkins, white pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks, hay bales and garden mums through Oct. 31, Monday through Friday from 1 to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Tampa Bay Farmers Market, 10001 N. Armenia Ave., Tampa, has opened its annual Halloween Pumpkin Patch. It's open seven days a week, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday; and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Call 813-876-7888.
