I-75 Reopens After Brush Fire
A Thursday afternoon brush fire had forced the closing of Interstate 75 lanes near Interstate 4.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — Update April 27, 5:12 p.m.: The Florida Highway Patrol reports Thursday's brush fire has been extinguished and that all lanes of I-75 are open for motorists.
Earlier: Motorists are being asked to steer clear of a stretch of Interstate 75 Thursday afternoon. A brush fire burning in the area of I-75, south of Interstate 4, has forced the closing of all northbound lanes except the inside travel lane. Portions of the exit ramp to Interstate 4 are also closed, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and Hillsborough County Fire Rescue were on scene just before 4 p.m. April 27, the highway patrol reported.

“Motorists should use caution in the area, expect delays and seek other north/south routes at this time,” an email from FHP’s Sgt. Steve Gaskins said.
