Committee Cancels Brandon's 4th Of July Parade 2022
For the first time since the founding of Brandon's 4th of July Parade in 1957, a shortage of volunteers has caused the fun event to cancel.

BRANDON, FL — The Brandon Parade Committee has canceled the town's 2022 4th of July Parade.
This is the first time in the parade's 65-year history it hasn't had enough volunteers, a news release said.
"Their support is necessary to continue raising the standard for Florida's best Independence Day Parade," a committee member said.

A lack of leadership also prevents the parade from being one of the best.
Their leader, Janine Nickerson, recently had a brain bleed that required emergency surgery, rehabilitation and ongoing recovery. She will not be involved in her leadership responsibilities this year as she focuses on her recovery.
