Deputies Investigate Shooting Outside Westfield Brandon Mall

BRANDON, FL — A man shot at another man Friday afternoon outside the Brandon Mall during an argument, a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office police information officer said.

The mall was placed on a brief lockdown when customers and employees heard a shot fired, deputies said.

Employees and customers did not know if the shots were coming from inside or outside the mall, deputies said.

The victim and the shooter began arguing inside the mall and then took it outside near the food court, deputies said.

The shooter and victim have not been located by authorities, deputies said.

Both men knew each other, according to deputies.
