Deputy's Vehicle Struck During Early Morning Commute

A motorist reportedly lost control of his vehicle and struck the car of a deputy with 12 years on the job. The deputy was uninjured and some $7,000 worth of damages were reported to the two vehicles after the Aug. 7 incident.

 

A deputy in his Crown Victoria, in the middle of the median northbound on U.S. Highway 301, under the Interstate 75 roadway, was struck by  motorist who lost control of his vehicle, according to a report from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Deputy Milo Millovitch's car suffered some $3,000 worth of damages after the 2008 Honda Civic driven by Raymond Clendinen, 30, of 14012 Hollow Leaf Place in Riverview, made its strike, according to the report of the Aug. 7 incident.

At about 7:28 a.m., Clendinen was traveling northbound in the center lane when he reportedly skidded into the rear of the deputy's car. Clendinen's car had about $4,000 worth of damages.

Millovitch, 40, a 12-year veteran of the sheriff's office, was not injured.

Clendenin was cited for careless driving and taken to Brandon Regional Hospital "to be medically cleared," according to the report.
