Get Ready: Affordable Afterschool Registration Coming Soon

The cost is $38 a week, but price breaks are available for children on free or reduced lunches in Hillsborough County.

Brandon parents searching for affordable afterschool options for their kids might only have to turn to nearby parks for assistance.

Hillsborough County is kicking off registration for its Rec2Six afterschool programs beginning Aug. 5. The recreation-based program offers children a number of activities they can take part in while also delivering homework assistance, according to the county’s website.

The afterschool program begins Aug. 20 and runs from 2 to 6 p.m. on school days. It’s open to kids in kindergarten through the fifth grade and runs on the same calendar as Hillsborough County schools.
