HCA Florida Brandon Hospital Names VP Of Emergency Services
Melissa Bell was promoted to the role.

BRANDON, FL — HCA Florida Brandon Hospital has promoted Melissa Bell to vice president of emergency services. Bell has successfully served in the position at an interim level since September.
In this role, Bell will oversee the operations of the Brandon Hospital Emergency Department, Children’s Emergency Department, five free-standing emergency departments in Lakeland, New Tampa, Plant City, Riverview and Temple Terrace and emergency medical services transport that includes three ambulances.
Bell joined Brandon Hospital in 2016 as manager of the emergency department. She then served as manager of the hospital’s medical/surgical inpatient unit from 2017 to 2018. In 2019, Bell began a new position as manager of HCA Florida New Tampa emergency and HCA Florida Riverview emergency, which are both a part of HCA Florida Brandon Hospital. Bell was then promoted in early 2022 to director of Brandon Hospital’s free-standing emergency departments.

“Melissa has served in several leadership roles during her time at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital,” said Kelly Lindsay, chief operations officer at Brandon Hospital. “She is able to execute fast-paced strategies and maintain collaboration with our seven emergency departments. Most importantly, her passion and urgency to be the ER of choice are genuine and palpable by all.”
Bell holds a master’s in leadership from Galen College of Nursing and a bachelor of science in nursing from Sentara School of Health Professions.
