Identity of Woman Found Dead in Ditch Released
The death of a woman whose body was found in a Palm River area ditch Tuesday has been classified as a homicide.

TAMPA, FL — As Hillsborough County Sheriff’s detectives continue an investigation into the death of a woman whose body was found in a ditch in the Palm River area Tuesday, they have released some information in the case.
According to the agency, a horseback rider found Evelyn Woodham, 26, dead in a ditch near 20th Avenue South and 58th Street South around 1:43 p.m. Nov. 1. Woodham’s body was located about 4 to 5 feet from the roadway and was found fully clothed, an email from the agency said.
Detectives say Woodham, who lived in the Tampa area, suffered upper body trauma. Authorities have not described the nature of the trauma. A definitive cause of death has also not been released. Woodham's death, however, has been classified as a homicide.

The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information about the case to contact detectives by calling 813-247-8200. Tipsters who would like to be eligible for a possible cash reward in the case are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477.
The sheriff’s office is releasing no further information about the case at this time.
